Three kinds of insurance you need while playing Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go

Are you catching them all?

It's not hard to spot a Pokemon Go player. They have a certain way of carrying their devices in front of them. Walking around alone or in groups looking for that rare Pokemon. My family and I took a drive the first night the game was out. We saw groups of people walking together looking at their phones. It was hard to believe the number of people out playing the game. To say the game is popular is really an understatement. Pokemon Go has an estimated 75 million downloads and in mid July had 25 million users playing daily.

We've all heard the stories of people trying to drive and play Pokemon or the guy that walked into a pond while playing. (watch the video here) With this in mind, we've put together a list of insurance policies you should have while playing Pokemon Go.

The following list was taken from PropertyCasualty360. Click for original article.

Don't trample through someone's flowerbeds to catch a Pokémon, but if you end up accidentally doing just that, your own homeowners' or renters' policy will likely cover the damage you cause to someone else's. But again, stay out of other people's flowerbeds (Photo: iStock)

1. Homeowners' and renters' insurance

While you’re out and about pursuing those elusive pocket monsters, rest assured that your possessions are covered if thieves break into your home. And, if someone runs off with your mobile phone, you’re in luck if you have cellphone insurance — though it might not reimburse for your lost Pokémon!

Also, if you accidentally trample somebody’s flowerbed while hot on the trail of a Bellossome (or a fellow player is injured in your home and decides to sue), most homeowners' and renters' policies have coverage for damage you cause to other peoples’ property and possessions as well as liability for mishaps on your property.

Lastly, your Pokédex may be in good order, but you might also want to consider creating an inventory of your real possessions, which can make filing a claim easier in the event of an insurable loss.
