Umbrella Insurance

Umbrella insurance is additional liability coverage that protects your assets beyond the limits of your existing home, auto, or boat insurance policies. It provides an extra layer of protection against large or unexpected liability claims, such as lawsuits resulting from injuries or property damage.
How it works:
Primary Policies First:
When you're liable for damages, your standard auto, homeowners, or boat insurance policies will pay out up to their liability limits.
Umbrella Policy Kicks In:
If the claim exceeds those limits, your umbrella policy will then pay the difference, up to its own coverage limits.
Asset Protection:
This helps safeguard your assets (like your home, car, and savings) from being used to pay for damages beyond your primary policy limits.
What it covers:
Beyond Existing Limits:
It extends coverage beyond the liability limits of your other policies.
Claims Not Covered Elsewhere:
It may cover claims that your other liability policies exclude, such as false arrest, libel, and slander.
Legal Fees:
Umbrella policies may also cover attorney fees and other lawsuit-related costs
